Obama Accomdates Nigerian President in White House

The U S President, Barack Obama welcomes President Buhari to the White House on Monday, lending a personal endorsement after the country’s first ever democratic transition.

By hosting Muhammadu Buhari in the Oval Office, the US president hopes to underscore that the African giant, also the continent’s biggest economy, is vital US interests.

Obama’s administration has faced criticism for not including the continent’s most populous country on a Africa tour later this week that will take place in Kenya and Ethiopia.
